People insist on getting pets like snakes, iguanas, turtles, parrots, and even things like lions and tigers. They don't have a clue how to take care these animals. They are unwilling (or unable) to adequately care for the animals (because it's so time-consuming and often expensive). They don't recognize the difficulty these pets present and soon they want to "get rid of" that pet. Please, people! Do your homework. Before you acquire an animal, make certain you have the ability (and the desire) to adequately care for that animal. If you don't, then do everyone a favor (especially the animal) and let someone else who is willing and able to adequate care for the animal have it. Learn how to adequately house the animal, how to prevent medical and behavioral issues, and how to help that animal thrive (or at least not suffer).
